“I’ve only lived here in Walnut Creek for a short time after moving from Texas and so far I’m impressed. The neighborhoods are very peaceful and the cost of living is surprisingly affordable for such a nice area of California. The job opportunities here are quite bountiful and the food is exquisite. I moved into a Sober Living Environment here after I graduated from an in-patient rehabilitation program and found employment the day after. I feel very safe walking the streets to work and back and have yet to meet an unfriendly person that lives here. I hope to settle down and make a life here!”

A very quiet town with a lot of opportunities like the farmers market and the monthly concert in the town square. Located close to San Francisco, Concord is a much less expensive alternate to its sister cities such as Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill.
“Renting in Concord is affordable and relatively safe. There are definitely cities in the SF Bay Area that I refuse to live in based off of crime rates and living expenses. It is convenient in terms of location, it is close to many major cities which provide work opportunities, while it is also a great place for outdoor enthusiasts. There is a place for everyone here.” -Sharron L.

“Great family area! Large enough yet cozy. Can be boring if you’re a single adult. Not much to do nightlife wise, and everywhere closes by 9 or so. I like it though. I moved here with my family when I was 12, and I have seen it change a lot over the years. Commute wise, it’s great – 45 mins to SF, 40 mins to Oakland/ Berkeley, 30 mins to Walnut Creek. There are even 2 Bart stations. Definitely recommend (if you can afford it, that is).” – Laurie S.

Pleasanton has grown dramatically from a small town to a wonderful family oriented town of over 80,000. It’s a great location if your working in either San Francisco or in Silicon Valley. Awesome Main Street with very nice restaurants and stores. It is known for having more parks than just about any other city in CA. Schools are some of the top in CA, and in the nation. You are only about an hour or less to the ocean, and 3-4 hours from Lake Tahoe.
“Amazing suburb! Great schools and neighborhoods. Quite pricey, however has an amazing community and great schools. The downtown is very cute, and it is within close proximity to San Francisco, Oakland, and even Tahoe. The weather is much better than San Francisco, and there are many outdoor activities, such as hiking and swimming. All hiking trails are gorgeous and very pet friendly.” – Margret R.
