Jar full of coins for donation

“I’m excited to announce that we’re almost at 3,000 members. Moving forward for every 1,000 members that join our group for the month of April I will donate $250 in food to our local hospitals and Food Bank.”

Back on April 9th, 2020, Realtor Alex Khodadad decided to start donating money to help support the community. This fiscal donation is just one way he has supported our community through Covid-19.

It all started on March 25, when Alex started the Facebook group In and Around Pleasant Hill Food to Go During COVID-19. His early April post regarding the donation goes hand in hand with the rapidly growing members joining the group on a daily basis.

Since March, the group continues to grow and Alex’s contributions continue to support and even motivate others in the community to match his efforts. The post below was April, 27th, only a few weeks after his first donation.

“I’m excited to announce that we have over 4,000 members now. I’m personally going to donate $250 to our local schools and Monuments Crisis Center. I also want to thank the owner of Round Table Pizza in Concord for matching my donation.”

As of today, Alex has 4,771 members and looks forward to hitting that 5,000 mark and beyond!

While creating this blog post, I stubbled upon this rave review, “I’d like to say a giant thank you to Alex Khodadad for starting this group. It has been fantastic seeing all the great restaurants we have in the area and I know this group has helped many of them stay in business. I’ve enjoyed living vicariously through some of the posts about the delicious food that folks are eating!

The real estate business has dramatically changed in the last two months and I’m sure a lot of agents don’t know what to do. Alex took the time to be creative and provide something of tremendous value to the community. I’m sure this type of ingenuity serves him well in his business.

I also appreciate the donation to the Monument Crisis Center and our local schools. Our family is grateful to have a pantry full of food and the ability to order takeout whenever we desire. Lots of families in our community aren’t in that situation and are relying on help to eat during this crisis. In the Mt. Diablo School District, our amazing employees are distributing over 40,000 free meals per week.

Thanks to Alex for starting the group, thanks to the front line workers who are making and delivering the food and thanks to all of you for participating and bringing some positivity when we need it so much.

Stay safe and bon appetit!”
